I don't think the old saying of '1 gal of water per person per day' is right, if your doing things in a survival camp, your need more them that, I think 2-3 gal is more likely, your fixing your camp up so your doing more work.

I think the idea of storing enough water for a family for X number of days is a real falicey as you would easily run out of room.

There are 2 ways to approach this:

1. If you know an emergency is coming you can fill up everything you can find.

2. Keep lots of bleach on hand.
